Joe’s Background

Joseph Claffy began his professional career at age fifteen in Denver, Colorado. Joseph gained local acclaim in his teens while playing in Denver, Evergreen, Vail and Aspen, Colorado.

While studying at Philadelphia University of the Arts he spent summers playing at Lake Tahoe, San Diego, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. After graduating with a degree in piano performance, he immediately set to work writing and arranging jingles and scores for Industrial and TV shows.

Mr. Claffy’s interest in intellectual property led him to law school where he was graduated with a J.D. He represents several well known film and television actors, directors writers and producers.

Shortly after law school Mr. Claffy was engaged as musical director for tenor Enzo Stuarti. While on tour with Stuarti, he had the pleasure to conduct the London Symphony Orchestra, the New Orleans Symphony and Les Brown’s Band of Renown. His arrangements have been recorded and played by major orchestras around the world.

Mr. Claffy turned his talent with words and music to the advertising and communications field. Mr. Claffy coined the familiar slogans “Only Sony” and “Mobil One” in jingles which he composed for the companies. He has composed music for and produced seven Mobil Oil Conventions along with music for Sunoco, Texaco, Carillon Liquors, Six Flags/Great Adventure and Winthrop Labs, Ovaltine and the Jeep Aloha Bowl. His TV credits include themes for Sports Talk, Escape to the World of Golf and assorted aerobic and tennis training videos.

Continuously over the above span of years, Joseph has provided exciting party music for weddings, balls and parties across the country. Joseph’s music spans the generations with authentic “Big Band Swing”,”Motown”, “Classic Rock and Roll” from the sixties to the nineties and “Two Beat Bounce”, with extensive George Gershwin, Cy Coleman and Cole Porter repertoires.
